Focus Group Discussion CGCG-IAI Yogyakarta
2008-07-10

Yogyakarta, 6 Desember 2007
Focus Group Discussion was held by CGCG and IAI Yogyakarta on December 6, 2007. This FGD presented discussions of GCG from 3 speakers with different perspectives whom are:

  1. Mrs. Yeni Fatmawati, Corporate Secretary of PT. Sari Husada (public sector perspective)
  2. Dr. Tri Gunarsih, Dean of Faculty of Economis, Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta (academic perspective)
  3. Mr. Agus Budiono from Bank Indonesia (banking regulator perspective)
Participants were expected to enrich their knowledge of GCG through different perspectives. Here are some important points came up through this event:
  1. The important thing in GCG implementation is commitment from top level management. Once the top management committed, lower level employees would do the same thing so it would become a culture in the organization.
  2. “Ethical creating an asset”. Ethical behaviour is an asset and ethics code in behave is an integrity. Hence we have to maintain the integrity as our self image will represent the company’s image.
  3. There’s a contingency in GCG implementation. If the company is not conducted by many parties, the implementation doesn’t have to begin in the first level (the implementation usually started by the top level). That’s why, we better start to fix small things from ourselves first.
  4. Indexes not always represent the real condition, because we might only measure it structurally by the elements.
